Who Wants To Be Rich? In Heaven!

“My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work,” Jesus told them. “Don’t you say, ‘There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest’? Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest. The reaper is already receiving pay and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that the sower and reaper can rejoice together.” John 4:34-36 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/jhn.4.34-36.CSB

Where are the men whose food is to do the will of God, Who has commissioned us to go and make disciples until everyone appointed for eternal life is saved? The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. Eternal fruit, a forever treasure, is paid out to the faithful laborer. Where are the men who want to please God more than anyone else and desire to be rich in heaven? The work of God is finished when the kingdom of God is full. The work of God has been given to the Church to share Jesus as Savior and to disciple people into obedience to everything Jesus commands. Our vocation is funding our occupation, which is God’s righteousness and His kingdom upon earth as it is in heaven. Who hungers to do this work? Who is grieved by the number of lost people? Who weeps at the sin man perpetrates against man day after day? Who prays for the leaders of our world whose laws continue to encourage men to disobey God and bind those who try to please Him? God invites us into His work, promising reward to the faithful but condemnation to the disobedient. To be faithful, we must hunger for God and then teach His ways of living on earth as in heaven. Men cannot know and love God until they are told the gospel and shown how to do so. This is the work of the faithful laborer who will be welcomed and rewarded in the kingdom of God by our Savior.
