Why is there so much evil in the world? Because the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. This evil is overcome by the faithful sharing of the gospel among the people of God, whose commitment to God is given even to the point of death by those who hate God and refuse to obey His commands. God, in His grace, has revealed Himself to us in Jesus, the Savior of the world, Who is God the Lord Almighty. He will come again to judge all men for every word spoken, thought held, and deed committed, whether for God’s glory or something else. The righteous will be rewarded based upon their fruit in keeping with repentance. The ungodly will be condemned based on the depth of their depravity. Neither God’s reward nor punishment will be universal in amount but universal in distribution. The Christian must labor against the principalities and powers in high places that deceive men from the truth through their prayers for all people and by their testimony to the word of God and its effect upon their lives. Christians are to live holy lives reflecting obedience to Jesus’ commands so that men are drawn to Jesus and able to hear our testimony, for faith comes by hearing and hearing from the word of God. Christians must not engage the idols of this world used by the enemy of man’s soul, such as treasure, titles, and trophy’s that men use to identify their success in this world. Christians live for God’s glory, not for their pleasure. To overcome evil, Christians must live and proclaim Him Who is good.
