2 Corinthians 5.11 warns since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others.
The problem is we really don’t fear God. We live our lives silently knowing that we are not always doing what is right while believing God doesn’t really care because He doesn’t give us immediate feedback for our actions.
We deceive ourselves into believing that because God is love He overlooks all wrong. (more…)
Ezekiel 14.14 declares even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only
themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.
The end is near God told Ezekiel. He was about to destroy Jerusalem through the army of the Babylonians because His people had for so long refused to obey His commands. God’s disgust was so high that He declared even if three great saints were present and alive in that city, only they would be spared but not the city itself.
Sometimes God spares whole communities based upon the righteous deeds of one. Sometimes He doesn’t. (more…)

While the love of God should move us toward Him the wrath of God should cause us pause. We have heard much of the love of God. Most non church attendees can quote John 3.16 about God so loving the world that He sent His ONLY Son etc. (more…)
Romans 16.26 describes the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the
Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith.
Tolerance is the new desire among those who speak about world religions. The espoused perspectives are that God cannot really be known and that all the religions basically teach the same things.
This worldview leads to every person creating their own religion, their own perspective of Who God is and what God requires. The result of tolerance is ignorance, disobedience and confusion.

1 Samuel 16:7 observes the Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward
appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
Its football season, my favorite sport and my favorite time of year. I am always amazed how fast and how big the players are in this game. The hits they deliver upon each other make me wonder if its really a good idea to play this sport. In football size and speed matter but not as much as heart. Every team has big and fast guys but not every team is filled with guys with great hearts. (more…)

Everyone wants to be great at something. When we are young our desire to be great usually focuses upon our studies, popularity, sports or arts. As we mature our desire for greatness shifts to our work or even our family.
We want to be great because we want to be the best because……why is it so important we always win? (more…)

The God of the Old Testament in the Bible gets a bad rap often because of all the killing He allows and even commands at various times among various people. While these things certainly did happen and will actually happen again, the real story is God’s attempt to keep them from happening but people choose to ignore Him. (more…)
Psalm 91:14 promises, because he loves Me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he
acknowledges My Name.
While we live our lives most of the time without interest in God’s interference, frequently enough we experience life outside our control and want God’s help. Some have denied the existence of God or His goodness because during these times He did not show up in the way they wanted or felt they needed.
Like the small child who has a tantrum when told no are those who curse God when He fails to behave according to their desire. So what does it take to move God favorably upon our behalf? (more…)
