“‘For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you will be cultivated and sown. ‘I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities will be inhabited, and the waste places will be rebuilt. ¶‘Thus says Lord Yahweh, “This also I will let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do for them: I will increase their men like a flock.” Ezekiel 36:9-10, 37 LSB https://bible.com/bible/3345/ezk.36.9-37.LSB
O church, let us put into action the great commission. All of us see the chaos our world is in. The wars, the hurricanes, the economy, the immorality, the world is not right. What is also not right is that the church has yet to embrace its role in developing and solving this chaos. The church is God’s change agent for the world. The church is society’s leaven which changes the whole dough. Society is the reflection of the influence the church has upon it. When there is little influence, there is chaos and evil. When there is much influence, there is peace and righteousness. The church must humble itself and admit its failure to obey the great commission these past sixty years. The church must pray for a renewed commitment to God and His work of making disciples by teaching all men everywhere to obey everything Jesus has commanded. The church must seek God, saturating itself in His word and work so that He is glorified among men worldwide. The church must turn from evil, stop living a consumerist life and instead live a life of sacrifice to help people come to know Jesus as Savior and live in obedience to Him. Then God will hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land. We must put into action the great commission. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. The evidence of a revival in our land will be the overwhelming response of God’s people to see God’s will accomplished on earth as it is in heaven.
