Jeremiah 38.20-21 promises, they will not hand you over, Jeremiah replied. Obey the Lord by doing what I tell you. Then it will go well with you, and your life will be spared. But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me.
The Lord God Almighty, maker of the heavens and the earth and all they contain, has told us what is good and what He requires from us so that all people in all places through all generations can know Him and please Him and thereby receive from Him life eternal with Him. God is so gracious, so kind, so generous to provide for us the means to live forever.
The Lord is willing to overlook our disobedience and rebellion and restore us to Himself as beloved sons and daughters. Not because He is willing to ignore all of our evil but because He punished all of our evil when He punished Himself in Jesus the Savior as the human-God sacrifice on the cross.
The human was crucified, dead and buried, the God was raised to life and now sits as Judge of all men, able to pardon everyone, who comes to Him in humility by faith for the forgiveness of their sins. Jesus, fully God and fully Man, is the means by which we can be saved, saved from condemnation to hell forever for all the evil we have done the greatest of which is ignoring the One True God and failing to execute His will upon the earth for the glory of Jesus the Savior.
Those who miss God’s grace, who refuse to surrender to His ways, do so by choosing to live as they think best, doing what they thought best, making themselves their own god because they decided what is right and what is wrong.
Salvation, restoration to God, is simple, easy for us but we must humble ourselves and receive God’s pardon then live forevermore doing God’s will for God’s glory on earth as it is in heaven.
