How To Keep God First In Your Life

Hebrews 3:12-14 NIV records, “See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.” https://bible.com/bible/111/heb.3.12-14.NIV

We need the word of God and the people of God if we are going to stay faithful to God. Those who remain faithful to the end of their lives are those who enter the kingdom of heaven. Those who argue ‘once saved, always saved’ hope their salvation will remain not because they remain faithful but because they believe God is always faithful. He is always faithful to honor His holiness and fulfill His word. The Scripture warns the lukewarm and those who deny Him that they will never enter the kingdom of heaven. The Word of God is the fuel that the Spirit of God uses to convict us of sin, to move us toward righteousness, and to remind us of the Judgement to come, keeping us in the fear of the Lord. It is the Church of God that encourages us to obey this word and helps us apply this word so that we remain doers and not hearers only, ensuring our welcome on that Day we are rewarded for every word spoken and every deed accomplished. We need to individually read God’s Word daily to obey it faithfully, then meet with God’s people continually to encourage understanding and application all of our days. Age is not an excuse. Busyness is not an excuse. Family is not an excuse. We must love the Lord our God first and most with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. This means making room for Him in our day and making obedience to Him our way, always if we are to remain steadfast, immovable, and loyal until He returns or He takes us home.
