Pleading For More Laborers

Get dressed and lament, you priests! Wail, you who minister at the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you servants of my God, because no one brings grain offerings or drink offerings to the temple of your God anymore.” Joel 1:13 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/jol.1.13.NET

The harvest is ripe, but the workers are few. Who is praying to the Lord of the harvest for more workers? Perhaps this is what we need today. We need the few who seek God and want to see His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven to gather in weeping, fasting, and prayer for laborers to engage the harvest. God promises healing of the land when His people humble themselves, pray, seek Him,  and turn from their wicked ways. Who will seek and save the lost as Jesus modeled and commanded His church? The Great Commission is the mission of every Christian, but few are fruitful because so few are faithful to share the gospel with people in hopes of reconciling them to Jesus so that they might be saved. Our world’s values reflect the church’s effectiveness at discipling the nations in the commands of Jesus. People who reject God and His ways are ignorant of God and His ways because the church is failing to proclaim and model God’s commands and His ways before that nation. Change begins with the leaders of God’s people seeking the Lord for His favor, His presence, and His power to provide laborers for doing the work of ministry, which is the reconciliation of the world to Christ.
