will.
The world is going crazy because people are increasingly doing crazier things. Granted, 24-hour negative news brings to our attention more crime, more violence and more human atrocity than we ever had before but still, does it seem like the world is running amok at a greater rate than ever?
The world has been in tough places before. It would have been hard times to be on the wrong side of Alexander the Great or Genghis Khan. It would have been hard times during the black plague. It was hard times during both world wars. It is hard times for those living wherever ISIS rules or seeks to rule. (more…)
Luke 23.49 observes, Jesus’ friends, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance 
watching.
A lot of people are standing from a distance watching for God to do something.
Sometimes we are waiting for Him to rain hell fire upon our enemies because we know how much they deserve it. Sometimes we are waiting for Him to heal us or our friends because we know how much He cares for us. Sometimes we are waiting for Him to bless us because we know how much He loves us. God is at work in the world making Himself known, working to reconcile the world to Himself. When men are at peace with God men are at peace with each other.

Luke 8.14 explains the seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their 
way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
Not too many Christians are happy with the current state of world affairs. Too much violence, too many corrupt people in high places, not enough economic growth and opportunities; unrest seems to be the norm.
What are the issues? The same ones that have plagued humanity from our beginning: selfishness, greed, power. (more…)
Mark 4.19 explains the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
The lack of Christian vitality in the United States can be traced to the ineffective work of Christians to obey God’s command to make disciples. The Christian’s lack of effort can be traced to the three things that God warns will make us unfruitful if we pursue those things rather than the things of God.
If we are to recapture the hearts and minds of people for the things of God we must recommit ourselves to the work of God which is the implementation of His will on earth as it is in heaven. The command to make disciples, the objective of the Church, is evidenced by obedience to all the Words of God in Jesus Christ. (more…)
