Ezekiel 8:12, 18 NIV “He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.’…Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them.”” https://bible.com/bible/111/ezk.8.12-18.NIV
The Lord detests nothing more than people worshipping something other than Him. God is our Creator. He sustains our lives. God has provided the means for intimacy with Him through His coming to earth, sacrificing Himself at the cross for our sins, and rising from the dead to prove to us His love for us and the completion of His work to restore us. Yet we reject Him continually. We see our difficult times and we blame Him by accusing Him of His disinterest or powerlessness to change them. We are the ones He waits for change. We are the ones who need to pray, to seek His face, to turn from our wicked ways, and to humble ourselves before Him by living in obedience to Him. America is in a crisis. The Church in America is in a crisis. We should be praying earnestly for God’s mercy. We should work diligently to be disciples by discipling others until we all obey everything Jesus commanded. We should be living holy lives separate from the goals and values of this pagan culture whose morality and interests are worldly and not preparing them for meeting God in His world, Who will judge them by His standard to welcome them forever into His kingdom or cast them forever from Him into eternal suffering in hell. This judgment is determined by our relationship with Jesus Christ, which is proven by our obedience to His commands. God loves His people and He disciplines those He loves so that we are made more holy as He is holy. It is time for us to repent, humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and engage in His mission, the Great Commission, by teaching everyone to obey everything Jesus has commanded.
