Daily Trust in Jesus is far more than attending church or participating in religious rituals. In John 6, Yeshua redirects our attention from temporary things to eternal realities.
He tells us not to work merely for food that perishes but for the food that endures forever. When the crowd asks what God requires, His answer is simple: “Trust in the One He has sent.”
That is the work of God.
Daily Trust in Jesus Means Abiding in Christ
Some have misunderstood Jesus’ words about eating His flesh and drinking His blood to mean that the physical act of communion imparts spiritual life.
But Jesus is calling us to something much deeper than ceremony.
He is inviting us into continual dependence upon Him. Just as our bodies require food and drink every day, our souls require ongoing fellowship with Christ through faith.
The wafer and the cup point us to Him. They do not replace Him.
Feed on Christ Throughout the Day
Most of us eat several times a day without giving it much thought.
Jesus teaches us to seek Him with that same regularity.
Begin your morning in His Word and prayer. Let His truth shape your thinking before the world does.
Pause throughout the day to surrender your circumstances, examine your attitudes, and realign your actions with His commands.
Finish your evening by thanking Him, confessing sin, and evaluating whether you were faithful to His mission.
This is what it means to feed on Christ daily.
Faith Produces Loving Obedience
Saving faith is never mere intellectual agreement.
The one who truly trusts Jesus increasingly obeys Jesus.
He loves Christ by keeping His commands and loves others by helping them know and obey Christ as well.
The rhythm of the Christian life is trust, obedience, love, and repeat.
Every day.
All day.
Your Vocation Supports Your Occupation
Your job is not your highest calling.
It is God’s provision to support your true occupation: advancing His kingdom.
The workplace is where you display Christ, proclaim Christ, and help move people toward complete obedience to Christ.
Our provision comes through our vocation, but our occupation is making disciples.
That is work that lasts forever.
