“”Thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘If you will walk in My ways and if you will keep the responsibility given by Me, then you will also render justice in My house and also keep My courts, and I will grant you access to walk among these who are standing here.” Zechariah 3:7 LSB https://bible.com/bible/3345/zec.3.7.LSB
Thousands upon thousands stand before the Lord and minister to Him in His court. They are those who were faithful to the end, keeping themselves from evil when persecution came upon them. God rewards faithfulness. His opportunities come to the faithful. Faithfulness is defined as obedience to God’s ways as detailed in God’s word. Faithfulness is doing the work of God assigned to us no matter the cost. The reward for faithfulness is life eternal with God Himself. The reward is to sit with Him in His house and to fellowship with all those who did the same. It is to be with God and with the faithful servants of God forever. A grand reward. What will take me out? Laziness at doing the will of God. Laziness at growing in the word of God. Laziness at praying for people to come to know Jesus as Savior and working to make that happen. This laziness will turn to idleness, facilitating seeking my pleasures and pursuits, causing me to become unfaithful. The enemy of my soul is my pursuit of self-pleasure, of doing what I want so I am happy. I must do what God wants so that I become holy. What do I want? What do I really, really want? Life eternal with my God in His house with His holy people or comfort and pleasure today? My focus, work, and disciplined pursuits will reveal my true desires.
