How The Born-Again Christian No Longer Sins

“The one who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the devil’s works. Everyone who has been born of God does not sin, because his seed remains in him; he is not able to sin, because he has been born of God. This is how God’s children and the devil’s children become obvious. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother or sister.” 1 John 3:8-10 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/1jn.3.9.CSB

When John says the Christian does not sin, he means the Christian does not practice sin. John does not mean the flash of anger or impatience, jealousy or lust won’t come upon us, but the continuance of evil will cease for those who are in Christ for the Spirit of Christ dwells in those who have been born again of the Spirit. The primary sin the pagans practice, and of which too many who claim to be Christian but live otherwise, is the practice of ignoring God and His will for His people who are to do the work of seeing His kingdom come upon earth as it is in heaven. The person born again of the Spirit is driven by the Spirit to the person of Jesus. The Spirit elevates Jesus and reveals Him more and more to His people through His word and practice. The person born again hungers and thirsts for God’s Word, for there they meet their Savior, and their love for Him is satiated. Furthermore, the child of God loves the family of God and seeks to be with the Father God, indulging in the praise of the children of God. The Spirit of God works in the children of God a unity and oneness to reveal the family of God to the world for seeing the glory of God. The sin of separation from God’s people is no longer practiced by the child of God. Finally, the Spirit of God empowers the children of God to faithfully witness to the person of God in Jesus the Savior. The Spirit elevates Jesus through His people by word and deed so that people are drawn to Him and become saved. The sin of shame and denial of Jesus no longer resides in the born-again child of God, for they cannot help but testify to the One Who saved them and waits for them to reward them in His eternal kingdom. These sins of ignoring God, ignoring God’s people, and ignoring God’s work are no longer practiced by the born-again Spirit-filled child of God.
