“Those who want to impress people by means of the flesh are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation. Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God.” Galatians 6:12, 14-16 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/gal.6.12-15.NIV
Few are willing to suffer for identifying with Jesus. We are most blessed when men curse us and speak evil against us for standing with Jesus and teaching His commands. Suffering for Jesus as He suffered is a 10x multiplier of eternal reward in our eternal treasuries. Still, most Christians fear men more than God. Many older Christians have compromised on God’s standard of sexuality being reserved only for the married man to his wife. The prevalence of homosexuality in the culture and thus the Church has caused many to compromise their previous convictions from God’s word because their sons and daughters disobey God by living a sexually deviant lifestyle. Jesus warns us against loving family more than Him and that His teaching would bring division within the home. It is a terrible thing to lose our children to the world, but even more so when we lose our own souls because we, too, have abandoned obedience to the Word of God. What should the Christian parent do whose child goes awry? Stay faithful to God and continue to love their children as much as the child will allow. This means staying in a relationship as much as possible but not allowing sexual immorality in your own home. The bedroom is for the married man and woman alone, for this is the only union God has blessed for sexual activity. All sexual activity outside of marriage is disobedience to God and should be condemned without toleration in our lives and homes. Love is not acceptance of disobedience to God. Love is a consistent calling to repentance and obedience to God so that all of us can live forever with God in His kingdom, where righteousness and holiness will be the norm forever. True love is obedience to Christ and serving others to that same end by sharing truth gently but firmly and requiring that truth be obeyed when it is in our power to do so.
