Luke 19.26 encourages and warns, risk your life and get more than you ever dreamed of. Play it safe and end up holding the bag.

Who are the most successful people in the world? Those who risked when others played it safe. Nearly all successful business owners threw in everything they had in order to gain what they really wanted. The athlete too sacrifices their time, their diet even their friends in order to become the very best and win the gold medal.

Great reward takes great sacrifice and great effort. The successful don’t become successful by playing it safe. God expects His people to have the same attitude and to give the same effort toward building His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Since this world is temporary, since God’s reward is eternal, it makes no sense for any Christian to give their best time, talent and treasure to what will soon be destroyed. Christians understand that what matters to God is what God rewards forever and what matters to Him is people being brought to Him to be adopted by Him as sons and daughters to live forever with Him.

Christians cannot play it safe in identifying themselves with Christ or in serving, loving and sharing with people until they too commit themselves to Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Those who lose their lives for Jesus sake and the gospel will find it but those who try to keep their lives in this adulterous generation will lose it.
