Removing the Barriers to Jesus

as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, ‘MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT. EVERY RAVINE WILL BE FILLED, AND EVERY MOUNTAIN AND HILL WILL BE BROUGHT LOW; THE CROOKED WILL BE STRAIGHT, AND THE ROUGH ROADS SMOOTH. AND ALL FLESH WILL SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD.’ (Luke 3:4-6 LSB)  https://accordance.bible/link/read/LSB#Luke_3:4

The work of the person making Jesus known in the world, which is the work of every Christian for all Christians have been appointed witnesses of Jesus, priests for building His kingdom even as they are all to pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, so too is every Christian to work toward the fulfillment of that prayer. This work primarily involves removing the barriers that hinder people from receiving God’s salvation in Jesus the Savior. The places too hard for people to cross over to God are to be filled in with God’s love and compassion by God’s people. The mountains too hard for overcoming for people hungering for God are to be torn down and cast into the sea with God’s overwhelming grace and mercy so that people can freely see Jesus as Savior and come to know Him as Lord. The difficult paths are to be smoothed out with the hope of God’s never ceasing, never ending, faithfulness so that people can come to Him for help and hope and find rest for their souls. Too often we who claim to know Jesus have hindered people from experiencing Jesus by adding to these chasms, increasing the size of the mountains and multiplying the debris on the road to salvation. This should not be. Those who know Jesus as Savior are to love others, serve others, give to others and do for others whatever is possible to see others come to reconciliation with God the Savior Who is Jesus the Lord. This is our work, our ministry, regardless of our vocation it is to be our constant occupation among our family, friends, co-workers and neighbors until every person bows the knee and confesses Jesus as Savior and Lord.
