The Culture Reflects The Obedience Of God’s People

“If only you will respond to my rebuke, then I will pour out my thoughts to you and I will make my words known to you. However, because I called but you refused to listen, because I stretched out my hand but no one paid attention, because you neglected all my advice, and did not comply with my rebuke, so I myself will laugh when disaster strikes you, I will mock when what you dread comes, when what you dread comes like a whirlwind, and disaster strikes you like a devastating storm, when distressing trouble comes on you. Then they will call to me, but I will not answer; they will diligently seek me, but they will not find me. Because they hated moral knowledge, and did not choose to fear the Lord, they did not comply with my advice, they spurned all my rebuke. Therefore they will eat from the fruit of their way, and they will be stuffed full of their own counsel. For the waywardness of the simpletons will kill them, and the careless ease of fools will destroy them. But the one who listens to me will live in security, and will be at ease from the dread of harm.” Proverbs 1:23-33 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/pro.1.23-33.NET

Are we tired of our moral and spiritual depravity, which causes our emotional, relational, cultural, and political chaos and destruction? Our society is not right. The church is the leaven left on earth to influence the whole world in the ways of God. The evil ways of men are prevailing in our days. Not because God is soon returning. Because the church has long stopped obeying God by teaching all people to obey everything the Lord Jesus has commanded while living in obedience to these commands ourselves. Our children are ignorant of God’s word because we are ignorant of God’s word. We have defined being good by being nice instead of by the standard of God, Jesus the Lord, and His command to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect. Knowledge of the Lord for obeying His commands comes from diligently reading, studying, and applying God’s word to our lives in the community of faith, who likewise encourages us to love and do good deeds even as we encourage others. The remedy for our malady is to humble ourselves before God, to pray to Him, to seek His face, and to turn from our wicked ways so that He might hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land.
