John 14:15, 21 NIV ““If you love me, keep my commands…..Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”” https://bible.com/bible/111/jhn.14.15-21.NIV
True love for God obeys the commands of God. This is how we know who loves God. They obey the words of Jesus. Jesus commands us to love God, Whom He is, with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Love for God is manifested best when helping others reconcile with Him through Jesus. Love for others is manifested best when helping them reconcile with God through Jesus the Savior. Obedience to Jesus is living as Jesus lived when He lived as God on earth. We follow Him when we live on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, doing everything that word commands in order to reconcile as many as possible to the person of Jesus. God so loved the world that He came to it to live among us as one of us to sacrifice Himself for us in order to reconcile us to Himself. We love God when we obey His command to carry that love on by serving, sacrificing, and sharing with others until all people everywhere repent, believe, and likewise obey every word that Jesus commands. We have a simple mission as Christians which is to love God and love others. This love is manifested in sacrificial and continual obedience to God through our self-denial in order to show God’s love to others and reconcile everyone to Jesus. All people must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God, so all Christians must love all people by sharing God’s love for everyone.
