We Need To Eat More Of God’s Food

Mathew 4.4 records, Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.

 

The first need for the men of the church is for them to be men in the word of God. We cannot know the will of God or the ways of God apart from the word of God. So much confusion exists in our society, including the church, over Who God is and what He requires. This confusion is the result of ignorance alone for God has given us clear detail of His workings in the world, the way in which He works and the works He requires men to do and for which they will be held accountable on that day they see Him face to face. Eating Well Is The Key To Spiritual Health

Hebrews 5.11,13 laments, we have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand……..Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

 

Is this not our current problem in America in a nutshell? The people of God have little interest in the things of God? Why is it so hard, for so many, to spend anytime at all in the scriptures or prayer? So few have a daily habit of reading chapters of the Bible in order to know their God better so they can do His will better.

The Reason For Our Spiritual Poverty

Psalms 1.1-2 describes, blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

 

The Scripture has many names for the people of God including aliens and strangers in the world. Though our God has left us in this world He commanded that we not be of the world. The beloved Apostle John describes worldliness as loving what our eyes see, what our hearts want and boasting of our accomplishments. Too many Christians are living worldly lives. (more…)

What God Has Declared, We Are Becoming

Hebrews 10.14,36 share, by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy…..You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.

 

The declaration of God over the people of God is that they are perfect. Declared perfect because of the perfect life lived by God in Jesus now appropriated to us who are imperfect and in no way able to live perfect lives. The perfect life required by God has been ‘lived’ by those of us who believe in God through Jesus the Savior Who lived a perfect life but died in judgement from God for our imperfect lives. (more…)

The Problem is Simple, Ignorance of Truth

Hebrews 5.14 observes, but solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

 

This is the problem with so many Christians today, particularly among the youth, they have no discernment between good and evil. Like the world, the media, the university professor, they call good evil and evil good. This is because they have not put to constant use the solid food of the Word of God. (more…)

Colossians 3.10 commands, put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

God the Father has the objective of having all people from all time living with Him forever. This will not be the case but that is because men refuse God rather than because God refuses men.
