““Come, let us return to Yahweh. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has struck us, but He will bandage us. “He will make us alive after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him.” Hosea 6:1-2 LSB. https://bible.com/bible/3345/hos.6.1-2.LSB
Do we feel the sting of our cultural immorality enough yet to humble ourselves before God, turn to Him, and turn away from our disobedient living? Has the corrupt government, media, and educational systems we have participated in done enough to cause us to want righteousness? We, the Church, must humble ourselves and seek God, praying to Him and turning away from sin if we would experience His healing of our land. Our return to the Lord begins with the prayer of repentance for ignoring Him and not doing His will in the world. We are part of the problem if we are not consuming Scripture daily to apply His will in our lives. We are part of the problem if we are not actively seeking to save the lost to establish His kingdom upon the earth as it is in heaven. Too many of us struggle to discipline ourselves over the habit of simple daily Bible reading. We cannot know God or do His will apart from the habitual consumption of His word. Likewise, His purpose in leaving His Church on earth is for it to go and make disciples. Most of us have not led a person to Jesus as Savior in the past twelve months or are actively engaged in helping another person grow in obedience to everything Jesus commanded. Our culture reflects this poverty of spirit by the Church. God desires to heal us, He wants to bless us, for we are His people, but we must love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves by leading them to live forever with God in His kingdom.
