Revelation 2.26 promises, the one who conquers and who keeps My works to the end: I will give him authority over the nations.
The Lord Jesus promises His reward of eternal life with Him on the new earth to those who conquer and remain faithful to do His will to the end of their days. This challenge, requirement, promise is different from what most Christians believe and speak – that we must merely pray to Jesus for our salvation and so it will be. (more…)
James 2.26 observes, just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith
without works is dead.
There is too much faith without works in our churches today. The people of God expect the hirelings to do the work when the Scripture commands the hirelings to equip the people for works of service to God. Why is this to be the case? (more…)
2 Timothy 2.19 records, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this
inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.
The word repent means to turn the other way, to turn around and go the other direction. It is the first word used in God’s opening message to humanity.
Matthew 16.19 and 23 promise, I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,
and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven. ..Get behind Me, Satan! You are a hindrance to Me because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns but human concerns. (more…)
1 Corinthians 3.3 describes, you are still worldly. For since there is envy and strife among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans?
Most would say we are nothing more than human, what else would we be? The Bible takes a different view of those who have been born again, not of human will, but born of the Spirit. These people are children of God, saints, positioned a little lower than the angels! (more…)
Jeremiah 7.23 describes, however, I did give them this command: Obey Me, and then I will be your God, and you will be My people. Follow every way I command you so that it may go well with you.
For the most part we prefer religion over obedience. Religion is easier. Religion keeps us in charge of determining if we are pleasing to God or not. Religion requires the least amount of effort and sacrifice. Religion gives power to a small group of people. Religion keeps things at the surface level rather than at the motive level. The One True God is not interested in our religion per se. (more…)
Matthew 19.23 records, Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven.”
The rich man wanted to enter heaven but he missed it. To show him his true love, and this determines our eternal destiny, God required him to give away what was most precious to him. This he could not do. (more…)
