“I will turn to you, make you fruitful, multiply you, and maintain my covenant with you.” Leviticus 26:9 NET https://bible.com/bible/107/lev.26.9.NET
As God prepared Israel to enter the Promised Land through His servant Moses, He promised them blessings and curses depending upon their obedience to His commands. We all want the blessing of God. His provision, His protection, and His presence. This is what God promised obedient Israel. And what were they to do to receive such a blessing? Honor Him by recognizing Him on holy days, then treat others with justice doing what is good and right toward their neighbor as they would want done to them. The same is essentially true today under God’s new agreement with men through Jesus the Savior. Putting our faith in the work of Christ for saving us and appropriating to us His righteousness, we are to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves. Doing this provides the assurance of His presence, He will be with us to the end of the age because we will be in alignment with Him, following Him as He continues His work in the world through us seeking and saving the lost. We can expect His provision, for He promises whatever we ask in His Name, we shall receive while we work with Him to accomplish His purposes. His provision is promised to supply our needs for performing His work. His protection too is guaranteed for we fear not men who can only kill the body but are powerless to send our souls to hell. A place is being prepared for those who are faithful to the end in the work of God, driven by their love for God and the people He has made. Yet curses remain for those who ignore God, who love themselves first and most, as demonstrated by living lives to satisfy their wants and wishes. Israel is our example of much suffering for ignoring and disobeying God. Let us seek the Lord while He may be found, humble ourselves before Him, pray, and do His will that He might hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land.
