If you are all bought into the rhetoric of the CDC, your particular Governor and
their mandates, what you hear everyday from CNN and the traditional media, then this discussion is not for you. Almost no one changes their opinion about anything anymore and I am sure I will not convince you to think outside your current bubble.
However, if you are still open minded, wondering if everything you hear is really true, if indeed we are taking the necessary steps toward ending this ‘crisis,’ then maybe these words will be of help to your consideration. (more…)
Isaiah 64.7 observes, no one calls on Your name or strives to lay hold of You; for
You have hidden Your face from us and have given us over to our sins.
This chapter, like many of the previous chapters, seems to speak to our country and our church today. All of the many things going wrong in our culture has not driven many yet to the point of perpetual prayer. Who is striving to lay hold of God? (more…)
Isaiah 43.10-12 records, you are My witnesses, declares the Lord, and My
servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, nor will there be one after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from Me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are My witnesses, declares the Lord, that I am God. Isaiah 33.6 promises, He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of
salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.
We need the foundation of the Lord in these times. His ways are the good ways that make it so that men can live with one another in joy, peace and prosperity. His commands are the means by which men can thrive together for they care nothing for color or gender but require all men to love one another as they love themselves. (more…)
John 2.17 records, His disciples remembered that it is written: Zeal for Your
house will consume Me.
What should it look like today for the Christian to have zeal for God’s house that it might consume them? For many Christians, there is little zeal for the Church. Yet the Bible describes the Church as the bride of Christ, His beloved people, the body over which He is the head, the means by which He accomplishes His will on earth as it is in heaven. (more…)
Matthew 16.19 and 23 promise, I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,
and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven. ..Get behind Me, Satan! You are a hindrance to Me because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns but human concerns. (more…)
Deuteronomy 17.19 describes, it is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to observe all the words of this instruction, and to do these statutes.
The king of Israel, after his appointment, was to write his own copy of God’s law from which he was to read daily so that he knew what it said in order to do what it said. Today all people everywhere have the possibility to access the Scriptures in a language they understand. Not all can read. Not all have legal access and not all have the Scriptures in their primary tongue but the Scriptures do exist in over half the world’s known languages. (more…)
Hebrews 5.13 observes, everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant.
Who lives on milk? A baby. How does a baby live on milk? They must be picked up and brought to the breast or otherwise held and have a bottle deposited into their mouth. There are too many in the Church who live on milk. (more…)
