Galatians 5.7 observes, you were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep
The Christian life is a journey to a destination where the journey continues forever and ever. Like living with a family, it is daily, forever we hope, changing yet always the same. It is good but sometimes it is hard. It brings us our greatest joy but also can bring us our greatest sorrow.
Zechariah 11.16 warns, I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are perishing, and he will not seek the lost or heal the broken. He will not sustain the healthy, but he will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.
The opposite of the bad shepherd is the man of God who makes his chief work the serving of God for the building of His kingdom upon earth as it is in heaven. (more…)
Revelation 2.26 promises, the one who conquers and who keeps My works to the end: I will give him authority over the nations.
The Lord Jesus promises His reward of eternal life with Him on the new earth to those who conquer and remain faithful to do His will to the end of their days. Therefore, those who claim to be in Christ must not neglect their salvation, for it was purchased by the blood of God to appease the wrath of God, so that men can be forever reconciled with God. 2 Timothy 2.19 records, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this
inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.
The word repent means to turn the other way, to turn around and go the other direction. It is the first word used in God’s opening message to humanity.
